Hitman
November 24, 2007 – 11:55 pm
I have been waiting for Hitman for quite a long time. It’s finally out (21st of Nov.), around two more weeks until it’s released in Kuwait though. Of course, it must go through all the stupid censoring they have in mind, it’s almost impossible to watch a movie in our theatres anymore.
You can watch the trailer here, there is a bunch of other videos on IGN.com including a scene from the movie (download the 39.6MB version, the larger one is a QuickTime file and it doesn’t play properly).
Based on a very popular video game, a lot of fans are waiting for this movie and expecting an Oscar-winning production, to say the least. Timothy Olyphant was chosen as Agent 47 eventually, he seems good but I hope that’s not only in the trailer. Other suggested names were Jason Statham and the original voice of Agent 47 in the video game, David Bateson. Statham does somehow look like a clone of Agent 47 with some modifications here and there. Bateson is a different case, not only he is the original voice of the character, the character itself was designed & based on Bateson’s face and figure. So basically you have the original face (this time not animated) and the original voice; in my opinion, he would’ve been the perfect choice. As for the acting skills, you judge for yourself. But since it’s too late to nominate a new name, I will go watch the movie and see how it goes, perhaps they made the right choice.
It should be an amazing movie - I hope, I’m still hesitating to go watch it in here, I might rather wait for the DVD release.
